11-10-2024 Internal Encounters at Quartier - The Hague

MATERIALS       Drawing paper, gray pencil drawing, color pencil, soapstone, fabric, wood.

BIO                  In her work as a visual artist, Lore Pilzecker is researching encounters of the presence of absence. The exploration of absent realities is done through rhythmic drawing techniques, in which she explores with pencil drawings a visual language of the imaginary. This repetitive methodology blends collective myths with unconscious desires, transmuting them into encounters with beings in transformation, human bodies with visible bones, organs, and non-human entities. Bringing these morphed entities into the present, the artist tries to find alternative ways of commemorating the deceased and question Western ideas surrounding mortality.
